
Four Trojans Land on CSC Academic All-District Volleyball Team
UPLAND, Ind. – The 2024 Academic All-District Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were announced Tuesday for all NCAA Divisions and the NAIA. For the third straight year, Taylor received the maximum of four honorees with McKaylah Flagle, Chloe Holtz, Jen Springer and Lindsay Springer all earning the distinction for the second time in their respective careers.
Flagle, a human physiology and preventative medicine major, helps lead the Trojans in the classroom with her 3.95 cumulative GPA. The junior libero played in every match in 2024, marking the third consecutive season she has accomplished the feat. Flagle, a two-time Second-Team All-Crossroads League player, averaged a career-high 4.87 digs per set on the year to raise her career digs total to 1,513.
Holtz makes a return to the CSC Academic All-District Team following her previous selection in 2022. The senior art education major made an appearance in every match for a second straight year while tallying a career-best 2.19 digs per set, which brought her final career total to 577 digs. In the classroom, Holtz ranks among the top three Trojan upperclassmen with her 3.77 cumulative GPA.
Junior Lindsay Springer made the Academic All-District Team for the second time in as many seasons with Taylor following her recent First-Team All-Crossroads League selection. On the court in 2024, Springer put herself in elite company by eclipsing 1,000 assists and averaging over 10.0 assists per set, a feat accomplished by only 17 NAIA players on the season. TU's setter also exceeds in her studies with a 3.71 cumulative GPA as a psychology major.
Jen Springer, like Flagle and Lindsay Springer, was named Academic All-District for a second consecutive year with a team-leading 3.96 GPA in her exercise science studies. The 2024 season also marked the senior's first Honorable Mention All-Crossroads League selection as Springer totaled the second most digs on the squad with 287 at a 2.54 digs-per-set clip. Springer completed her third and final season at Taylor having played in every match throughout her career while posting 719 digs for the Trojans.
The CSC Academic All-District distinction is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements, both in the classroom and on the court. To be eligible for the award in volleyball, student-athletes must have achieved sophomore status academically, maintain a GPA of 3.50 or higher and either play in a minimum of 90 percent, or start in 66 percent, of her team's matches throughout the season.
Flagle and Lindsay Springer have advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ballot to be voted on by CSC members prior to being announced on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025.
