Trojans Pick Up Eight Scholar-Athlete Honors
KANSAS CITY – The Taylor University competitive cheer program topped the Crossroads League and registered the second-highest number of NAIA Scholar-Athlete awards in the NAIA, as recently announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
Taylor had eight student-athletes named NAIA Scholar-Athletes, with Jonathan Berry, Annabel Boatwright, Peyton Bowers, Eleanor Cooper, J. Michael Pierce II, Emma-Kate Moore, Caroline Ray and Reagan Smith all earning the recognition.
Taylor's eight NAIA Scholar-Athletes matched TU with Brenau, Northwestern and Oklahoma City for the second-highest total in the NAIA, trailing only the nine awards picked up by Georgetown and Mid-America Nazarene.
To be eligible for NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative minimum grade-point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale, while having attended one full year at their current institution.
