TU Cheer Kicks Off Year-Four at Marian Invitational

INDIANAPOLIS – The Taylor competitive cheer team opened its 2024 season on Saturday with a pair of performances at Marian University. The Trojans competed in the five-team Marian Invitational, prior to going up against Indiana Wesleyan and Saint Francis in a tri-match later in the afternoon.
TU took fourth place in the Marian Invitational, posting a score of 75.32 to edge USF in the team standings. Concordia won that portion of the meet with a team mark of 83.17.
In the tri-match, Taylor improved its score to 80.80, registering the fifth-best team mark in program history. TU was edged in the tri-match by IWU and USF however, with IWU posting an 86.9 and USF scoring an 81.4.
Taylor will be right back in action on January 27 at the Missouri Baptist Spartan Showcase.
