
RV Taylor Climbs Standings on Final Day of Carey Classic
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Taylor men's golf team turned in the fourth best team score of the day during the final round of the William Carey Collegiate Classic on Tuesday, shooting a 287 over the final 18 to move up two spots in the team standings.
Taylor saved its best for last, following scores of 291 and 297 on Monday with the 287 on Tuesday to finish eighth in the loaded 14-team field, which included nine teams ranked or receiving votes in the most recent NAIA Top-25 Poll.
Will Schuitema, Adam Kasitz and Austin Davis all carded individual scores of 72 to end one-over par for the day. Schuitema finished seventh on the individual leaderboard, while Kasitz moved up to 36th and Davis jumped 10 spots into 40th.
Taylor's best score of the day came from Tanner Conklin, who fired a 71 to finish in 60th, with Kyle Kasitz ending just ahead in 57th.
Up next for the Trojans will be the Purgatory Intercollegiate in Noblesville, Indiana on March 22 and 23.
