No. 22 Taylor Powers to Top of Standings at Baker Shootout

SPRING HILL, Kan. – The No. 22 Taylor women's golf team dominated the nine-team field on the first day of the Baker Shootout, opening its spring season by posting a 19-shot lead over the field after 18 holes of play.

The Trojans shot a 329 on the first round at the Sycamore Ridge Golf Course, clearing second-place Park by 19 strokes and third-place Grand View by 31.

TU placed all five golfers inside the top-10 on the individual leaderboard, with Shayne Lim and Margarita Garrido holding the top-two spots after posting single-round scores of 78 and 80.

Ellie Beavins shot an 84 to tie for fourth, with Elizabeth Kemper tying for eighth and Alyssa Schmidt tying for 10th.

Taylor will seek to clinch the team and individual titles on Tuesday when play concludes at the Baker Shootout.
