COLUMBUS, Ind. – The No. 21 Taylor women's golf team played the first two rounds of the 2024 Crossroads League Championships on Monday, finishing the day in third place in the team standings.
The Trojans posted team scores of 315 and 313 at the Otter Creek Golf Course, opening a 23-shot lead over fourth place, but trailing No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan by 13 strokes and No. 9 Marian by 21 shots for the lead.
As she has all season, Shayne Lim led the way for TU, posting scores of 77 and 74 to end Monday's action in second place at seven-over par and four shots shy of the top spot.
Margarita Garrido also finished play on Monday within striking distance of the CL Championship with scores of 76 and 77 to tie for fifth at six strokes back.
TU's other top performers on Monday were Ellie Beavins and Elizabeth Kemper in 11th and 22nd on the individual leaderboard.
Taylor will play the final 18 holes of the Crossroads League Championships when play resumes on Tuesday, April 30 at 8:30 am.
