
Trojans Finish 18th at NAIA National Championships
SILVIS, Ill. – After posting the fourth-best team score of round one at the NAIA National Championships, the Taylor women's golf team struggled on day two, shooting a 335 and falling to 18th to miss the cut by four shots.
TU ended its second round with a total score of 649, putting the Trojans just three spots shy of making the cut into the final two rounds on Thursday and Friday. The 18th-place finish is TU's sixth-straight team finish inside the top-20 at Nationals.
Shayne Lim followed her opening round score of 77 with an identical score on Wednesday to end in 16th and punch her ticket to compete as an individual over the final 36 holes.
Lim was the lone Trojan to advance however, as the rest of TU's lineup all came up short of making the cut. Margarita Garrido, Ellie Beavins and Elizabeth Kemper all finished inside the top-100, with Garrido ending in 61st and Beavins and Kemper tying for 94th.
Lim will look to climb the individual leaderboard throughout the third round on Thursday, with her round set to begin at 10:20 am (ET).
