Lim Fires a 71 to End Nationals in Eighth Place
SILVIS, Ill. – Shayne Lim saved her best for last, carding a final round tally of 71 on Friday to move up six more spots and finish the 2024 NAIA Women's Golf National Championships in eighth place on the individual leaderboard.
Lim posted scores of 77 over her first two rounds, before shooting a 76 on Thursday and improving to the one-under par score of 71 over Friday's final round. The steady improvement on the scorecard was mirrored by Lim's rise in the standings, sitting in 16th at the conclusion of each of the first two days, before climbing to 14th and then to eighth.
Lim's Friday round was highlighted by birdies on holes one, six and 13, and the sophomore shot two-under par with no bogies over the front nine to close her tournament.
After finishing in 63rd at the National Championships as a freshman, Lim returned to post TU's best finish since Nicole Jung took third in 2022. Lim's 72-hole total of 301 was just four strokes out of a third-place showing and was just 12 shots off pace of the National Champion, Hoi Ki Lau, of Keiser.
