JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its women's soccer all-league awards on Monday, Nov. 13, and Taylor was well represented with five honorees. Forward Audrey Grimm and defender Claire Massey were both named First-Team All-Crossroads League, while midfielder Lauren Collins, goalkeeper Hannah Brackenbury and forward Leah McQuade were All-Crossroads League Honorable Mentions. McQuade was also named to the CL Newcomer Team as one of five CL players to claim the title. In all, 22 athletes were named to the first team and 15 received all-league honorable mention from the CL.
Grimm had a phenomenal season leading the Trojans' high-powered offensive attack with a team-best nine goals and 21 points. The junior led the CL in shot attempts while being tied-fifth in goals scored and picking up a pair of CL Offensive Player of the Week awards. The first-team nod is the forward's first after being named to the honorable-mention squad in 2022.
Massey's first-team all-league selection is the second of her career after also receiving the honor a season ago. The defender tallied an impressive three goals and two assists from her position, and she served as Taylor's primary option on corner kicks. TU's senior leader was often the catalyst for the Trojan attack with her aggressive, ball-hawking style of play and knack for pushing the ball upfield that could quickly sway the match in Taylor's favor at any given moment.
As for the Trojans' honorable mention representatives, Collins scored four goals and added an assist while serving as a key cog in the middle of the action on many of TU's scoring plays. Collins' honorable-mention campaign included making 16 starts, and it came on the heels of her first-team all-league honors from last season.
Brackenbury started every match for TU in goal during her senior season, collecting 51 saves while holding opponents to fewer than one goal per match. The goalie also took part in six shutouts, with half of those credited to her as solo shutouts. The All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention title marks the first in her career.
McQuade's double honors as being named to both the honorable mention and newcomer teams were well earned after the freshman's eight-goal, 17-point campaign that included two game winners. Her season was highlighted by a magnificent stretch of six goals in six games from Sept. 19 through Oct. 11.
The two seniors among TU's honorees, Brackenbury and Massey, finish their careers as part of a senior class that had a four-year record of 41-20-8, including a trip to the NAIA National Championships in 2022. Brackenbury started all 69 matches during that span as TU's goalkeeper, making 216 saves. Massey appeared in 67 matches and has been a full-time starter since her sophomore season. She tallied nine career goals and 15 assists for the Trojans.
