RV Taylor Lands Six to the CSC Academic All-District Team

UPLAND, Ind. – Six members of RV Taylor's women's soccer team – Hannah Brackenbury, Morgan Fletemeyer, Claire Massey, Sarah Mullins, Chloe Sena and Sydney Thompson – were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by CSC on Nov. 20. Honorees are nominated by each institution's sports information department for exceeding high standards both on the field and in the classroom, and they must have achieved sophomore academic status, a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and either play in at least 90 percent, or start in 66 percent, of her respective team's matches throughout the season.

Brackenbury, who majors in engineering, and Massey, a psychology major, headline the Trojans' honorees as repeat selections to CSC's Academic All-District Team. Both seniors started all 18 of TU's matches in 2023 while being named to All-Crossroads League teams (Massey as a first-team selection, and Brackenbury as an honorable mention) for their stellar campaigns. Brackenbury is one of four players, excluding freshmen, with a cumulative GPA of 3.90 or higher for TU.

Sena, a human physiology and preventative medicine major, is a past NAIA Scholar-Athlete who also excelled on the field for the Trojans. The senior posted eight goals and three assists for Taylor to finish second on the team in both categories.

Fletemeyer leads the Trojans in cumulative GPA as a biology health sciences major. The lone sophomore selection from TU, Fletemeyer played in all 18 matches and registered two goals in the 2023 season.

Mullins and Thompson, biochemistry and management majors, respectively, round out TU's selections to the CSC Academic All-District team as juniors and past NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Mullins, a midfielder whose GPA exceeds 3.90, finished sixth on the team in total points with seven, while Thompson, a forward, concluded her season tied-seventh on the team with six total points.

The six 2023 Academic All-District selections for TU are the maximum allowed for any one team per CSC rules, and it marks the second-straight season the women's soccer program has hit that maximum number.

CSC's Academic All-American Team will be announced on Dec. 19, with CSC members voting from the all-district pool of honorees.
