JACKSON, Mich. – Campbell Massey was honored as the women's soccer Crossroads League defensive Player-of-the-Week on Monday afternoon after helping the Trojans to a pair of dominant victories.
Massey collected her first Crossroads League Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor after leading the defense in a pair of commanding victories. Massey and the Trojans began the week with a dominant 17-0 victory in which Defiance did not fire a single shot. Taylor and the Massey-led defense then went on the road and held down previously undefeated Trinity Christian to the tune of one goal and four shots on target in a 5-1 convincing win. The Loveland, Ohio native scored the game-winner for the Trojans on the road with a header off a corner for her second goal of the year.
Massey's honor is the first women's soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week award for the Trojans since the 2022 season, and it marks the Trojans' sixth athlete-of-the-week award in the 2024-2025 year across all sports.
Taylor (3-2-2) has a break before beginning Crossroads League action on Wednesday, September 25, with a home match against Saint Francis (6-0-2) set to kick off at 7:00 pm.
