
Rawlings Nabs NAIA Defensive Player-of-the-Week Honors

KANSAS CITY – On the heels of an outstanding performance in a 1-0 upset win over No. 10 Marian, Brianna Rawlings was named the NAIA Defensive Player-of-the-Week.
The Las Vegas, Nevada native had an incredible match against No. 10 Marian, shutting out a squad ranked 18th in the NAIA in goals and averaging over three goals a contest. Rawlings made eight saves in the victory and was stout in gathering up crosses from 17 corners taken by the visitors.
The junior keeper continued her terrific week with another victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene, in which she made a trio of saves. Rawlings posted a .917 save percentage throughout the week and was only beaten on a penalty shot in the 4-1 win over the Cougars.
Rawlings is the first women's soccer player to earn NAIA Athlete of the Week honors since 2021 and fourth Trojan student-athlete to receive National Athlete of the Week recognition during the 2024-25 season.
Taylor (6-3-2, 3-1-0 CL) continues Crossroads League action on Saturday, October 12th, with a road contest against Huntington (5-3-4, 0-2-2 CL) kicking off at 1:30 pm.
