
Taylor Women Finish 12th at NAIA Indoor Nationals

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Taylor entered the final day of the 2024 NAIA Women's Indoor Track and Field National Championships with performances in the mile, 3,000, 5,000 and distance-medley relay on the schedule and came away with All-American performances in each of them en route to charging to a 12th-place finish in the team standings.
Noel VanderWall set the tone once again on Saturday, shattering her own school record in the mile by three seconds with a blistering time of 4:55.63. VanderWall used that mark to finish in third place and collect six points for TU in the team standings.
Ahna Neideck followed in the 3,000-meters, battling to an eighth-place finish with a time of 10:24.11.
Audrey Brinkruff and Mollie Gamble kept the good performances coming, taking fourth and sixth in the 5,000-meters to add eight more points for the Trojans. Brinkruff and Gamble crossed with times of 17:29.52 and 17:35.31.
The distance-medley relay team of Abby Mays, Ashley Hall, Emily Johnson and VanderWall closed the memorable weekend with some history of its own, breaking yet another Taylor record with a time of 11:58.81. The relay finished in third place for six points.
The Trojans closed the day with five All-American performances resulting in eight All-American honors and set two new program records along the way. The final-day haul moved Taylor's three-day totals at the National Championships to six All-American performances that brought home 12 All-American honors and four new program records.
