
TU Cheer Takes Third at Crossroads League Championships

MARION, Ind. – Taylor logged a program-best score for a fifth and sixth-straight time in as many performances this season to finish third place at the 2023 Crossroads League Championships on Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan.
The Trojans surpassed the 85.00-point plateau for the first time ever, posting a mark of 86.12 in the finals after scoring an 84.72 in the prelims. Taylor's combined final score of 85.77 trailed only Indiana Wesleyan and Marian in the team standings. TU's mark put the Trojans comfortably in front of Saint Francis, Bethel, Spring Arbor and Mount Vernon Nazarene.
The third-place team finish at the CL Championships also marked a program best for Taylor, after having finished sixth in its only prior appearance at the league competition.
No. 17 Taylor (23-9) will now wait to see if it receives at at-large bid to the NAIA Nationals on March 10 and 11 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
