Hudson Gongwer enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Trojan Men's Soccer team in 2025. Rejoining the Crossroads League, now as a coach.

Before Joining the Trojan’s, Coach Gongwer was with Iowa Western Community College where he assisted in a 2024 Undefeated National Championship season. His career took off to a 23W-2T-0L start. Coach Gongwer had numerous responsibilities such as U.S. Recruiting coordinator, redshirt program head coach, assisting with sports performance, and all other responsibilities related to assisting a program. Coach Gongwer has helped coach several players into Division 1 soccer throughout his time at one of the most prestigious soccer programs in the nation.

During his time at Iowa Western coach Gongwer also created and led weekly FCA Hudl’s on IWCC’s campus. He held bible studies within the men’s soccer team, helping lead young men closer to Christ. Gongwer also coached a U15 club team through Elkhorn Roots while completing his USSF National D License.

Before Joining the Reivers, Coach Gongwer was with Indiana Wesleyan University where he completed an internship with the IWU Men’s Soccer Staff for the 2023 Season. Helping lead the team to the NAIA National tournaments final site and final 16.

Coach Gongwer received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2023. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Sports Leadership through Indiana Wesleyan.

Coach Gongwer also played for Indiana Wesleyan from 2020-2023. He received conference Player of the Week in 2020 and Daktronics Scholar Athlete in 2022. Gongwer helped the team make the NAIA National Tournament in 2022. 

Prior to Gongwer’s time at Indiana Wesleyan, he stared at Avon Highschool where he earned: All State, All Conference, All District, All County, Top Team Player accolades.

Coach Gongwer will serve and assist with the daily operations of the Trojan Men’s Soccer Team.

Coach Gongwer had this to say about joining the men’s soccer coaching staff “I’m very excited to be a part of this amazing program. I look forward to helping improve this program and disciple young men towards Christ. I want to thank for Coach Aaron for the opportunity.”
