Women's Soccer Receives Maximum Six CSC Academic All-District Awards

UPLAND, Ind. – The CSC announced its Academic All-District Award recipients on Tuesday, with Morgan Fletemeyer, Audrey Grimm, Eliza Luttrell, Campbell Massey, Sarah Mullins, and Libby Thomas honored, giving Taylor the maximum amount allotted per University.
The Taylor defense was well represented, with Thomas and Massey each earning the distinction for the first time in their time at Taylor. Massey earned the distinction by posting a 3.70 GPA in her psychology workload. The sophomore started all 17 matches for the Trojans and scored three goals, all off corner kicks. Thomas collects the award for the first time after earning a 3.54 GPA throughout her marketing and management classes. The junior delivered four assists and scored a goal throughout the year while starting every match.
In midfield, Mullins and Fletemeyer each nabbed their second CSC award. A senior, Mullins, has accumulated a 3.89 GPA in her biochemistry studies. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native played in 16 matches and made seven starts, scoring once to cap her career with six goals and four assists. Fletemeyer has earned the award in every year eligible with a 3.94 GPA throughout her biology health sciences classes. The junior scored a career-high five goals and provided an assist as the holding midfielder for the Trojans. Fletemeyer was also recognized as a First-Team All-Crossroads League selection earlier this week.
Finally, up the pitch at the forward position, Taylor was represented by Grimm and Luttrell, who earned their first career CSC awards. Grimm posted a 3.64 GPA in her finance courseload to collect the award. Grimm's terrific Taylor career has come to a close after scoring eight goals and providing four assists in her final campaign. Grimm totaled 27 goals and ten assists in her four years in Purple and Grey, with 64 points landing her sixth all-time in program history. The senior also finished sixth in career goals while placing second in game-winners at nine and joined Fletemeyer as a First-Teamm All-Crossroads League selection. Luttrell posted a sterling 3.97 GPA in her elementary education classes. The sophomore scored a trio of goals and dished out two assists while playing in all 17 matches and grabbing three starts.
The CSC Academic All-District distinction is designed to recognize student-athletes for outstanding achievements, both in the classroom and on the field. In order to receive the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale, must have achieved sophomore status academically with at least one full year at their current institution, and must have participated in over half of the team's competitions as a key contributor during the current season. Each University is limited to nominating six players for the award.
Student-athletes are nominated for the award by their institution's Sports Information Department and receive CSC Academic All-District honors if they meet the qualifications.
Grimm, Fletemeyer, Massey, and Thomas advanced to the ballot for CSC Academic All-American honors, which will be voted on by members of the CSC, before being announced on Wednesday, December 11th.
