Trojans Bested by CU Yellow Jackets
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Taylor women's tennis team dropped a tough road contest on Saturday to NCAA DII opponent Cedarville University 7-0. Taylor (5-5, 3-3) finished their three-match, road-warrior week with a 1-2 mark.
"It was a tough loss today to a good Cedarville team," noted Coach Jon Wegener. "We had a good start early in doubles but struggled throughout the rest of the match."
The Trojans fell in all three doubles matches, including a closely contested No. 1 doubles contest that finished in a tiebreaker between Katelyn Gray and Lauryn Riegsecker from Taylor and Liana English and Abbie Evans from Cedarville.
In singles, TU was unable to rebound, falling on all six courts.
"Credit goes to the players who fought hard throughout the entire match, but overall, it's a disappointing way to finish our week on the road," added Wegener. "We'll take what we can learn from it and be ready to play at home again next week."
TU will be back at home hosting Saint Francis on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. before taking part in the ITA Regionals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
