
Mays Highlights Busy Day for TU at George Glass Invitational
UPLAND, Ind. – Abby Mays secured two of Taylor's five event wins and hit two of the squad's three standards on the afternoon to lead the Trojans at their own George Glass Invitational.
Mays paced the field and provisionally qualified for NAIA Nationals in the 800-meters with a time of 2:18.58, before teaming with Addie Draper, Kaitlin Burden and Noel VanderWall to win the distance-medley relay with a time of 12:18.99. That time also was good for a provisional qualification to Nationals.
Kiana Siefert also secured a win and a B-standard in the jong jump at 5.61 meters, while Sam Patterson and Lynae Ackley registered wins in the 5,000-meters and 3,000-meters with times of 17:58.61 and 11:05.51.
Siefert and VanderWall also added runner-up finishes on the afternoon, with Siefert taking second in the 60-meter hurdles at 9:19 and VanderWall crossing in second in the mile at 5:14.58.
Kali Siemers also showed well, taking third in the high jump and third in the triple jump with marks of 1.50 meters and 9.57 meters.
Taylor will compete in the IWU Midwest Classic on February 1, before hosting the 2025 Crossroads League Championships on February 14 and 15.
