
Halterman Awarded Season’s First CL Runner of the Week

JACKSON, Mich. – Following a dominant win at the Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invitational on Sept. 6, Taylor freshman Jaynie Halterman has been named the Crossroads League Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 2-8, announced Tuesday.
Halterman earned a 14.1-second victory over runner-up Ahna Neideck in the 213-runner competition. The Thompson's Station, Tennessee, native clocked a 21:58.2 in the 6k race to lead No. 4 TU to its fifth consecutive team title at IWU's Invite.
Halterman's honor comes in the wake of her first collegiate race, and it marks the Trojans' fifth athlete-of-the-week award in the 2024-2025 year across all sports.
The fourth-ranked Taylor women compete next at the Mizzou Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 27 at 11:15 a.m. ET.
