JACKSON, Mich. – No. 13 Taylor baseball slugger Brayden Manning was named the Crossroads League Player of the Week for the first time in his career, as announced by the league Monday when it recognized performances from March 24-30.
Manning led the Trojans to a sweep over Bethel, helping power an offense that put up 46 runs in the four-game series.
The Lakeville, Minnesota, native started his week with a four-hit doubleheader that included two doubles, two walks, a stolen base and RBI. Manning followed Thursday's twin bill by homering in each of the games on Friday, capped by his three-run shot in the nightcap.
Manning finished his week with a .400 batting average, .933 slugging percentage and six runs batted in. The outfielder notched at least one hit and scored at least once in all four contests.
Thus far in 2025, Manning has posted career-bests at the plate by batting .333 with a .432 on-base percentage.
No. 13 Taylor (28-5, 19-1 CL) looks to reach the 30-win threshold for the 16th consecutive season since 2009 (sans COVID-shortened 2020) when it plays at Saint Francis (15-16, 13-7 CL) beginning Thursday, April 3, at 1 p.m.
