Trojans Drop League Contest to HU
UPLAND, Ind. – In their final league contest of the season, TU fell 9-0 to the Foresters of Huntington University. Taylor (3-9, 3-6) will conclude the regular season on Saturday before heading into postseason play.
The Trojans failed to pick up an individual match victory but had some highly competitive matches. In the No. 1 doubles slot, Andre Danelli and Christen Jacquottet were just one set away from recording a win as they fell 9-8 to their HU counterparts.
Salvador Lo Cascio came out firing in his No. 3 singles match against Mariana Echevarria winning the first set 6-1. After falling in the second set, Lo Cascio and Echevarria tangoed to a 14-12 third set final that went in favor of Echevarria.
"We had a couple good matches but ran into the same story where we play well but do not get points to show for it," said Coach Don Taylor. "That seems to be our fate. We play well to a certain point, and we can't finish."
Taylor's season finale on Saturday is slated for 10:00 a.m. when the Trojans will square off against the Warriors of Indiana Tech.
