
Marian Bumps TU from Crossroads League Tournament

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – The Taylor men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Marian University in the opening round of the 2018 Crossroads League Tournament on Tuesday.
With the loss, seventh-seeded Taylor (3-11, 3-6) closes their fall season while second-seeded Marian (11-1, 8-1) advances to the league semifinals.
The Trojans picked up their lone win in the No. 1 doubles position with Christen Jacquottet and Andre Danelli besting Diogo Jesus and Hunter Sylvester by a score of 9-8. After falling behind 2-1 after the three doubles matches, TU fell in the first four singles matches that followed, and the No. 4 and No. 5 singles matches were not completed.
"We had a great effort to finish strong here today," praised Coach Don Taylor. "Even though it wasn't the result we wanted, the guys played hard and were competitive. "
Taylor finishes the fall with a 3-11 record. They will return to the courts in the spring of 2019.
