
Fletchall and Kling Advance in ITA Regionals
MARION, Ind. – The TU women's tennis team continued competition today at the ITA Regionals and will see action again tomorrow thanks to the play of Molly Fletchall and Alexa Kling in the main draw doubles consolation bracket.
Fletchall and Kling bested Maria Alvarez and Maria Vega-Hazas from Lawrence Tech on Friday evening 8-2. With the win, they advance to the semifinals of the bracket. The pair will be back in action on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. facing Veronica Rydstrom and Gabriela Eva from UNOH.
The tandem of Julia Hofmeister and Chloe Schaufelberger took full advantage of their time on the court today by winning their lone match, which was the top spot in the women's B draw doubles bracket. They outlasted Krystal Schmidt and Savannah Houck from IUE by a score of 9-7.
Also in action on Friday was Maria Briz who defeated her IWU counterpart 6-4, 6-1 to take top honors in the women's B draw consolation bracket.
In the main draw, TU fell in all three matches and were eliminated from tomorrow's final contests.
