Trojans Suffer First Loss of the Spring Season
MARION, Ind. – The 9th-ranked Wildcats of IWU handed TU their first loss of the spring season on Friday by a final score of 5-0. Taylor (11-6) will close the campaign tomorrow with the final match of the IWU Tournament on their home courts in Upland.
Taylor was unable to record a win against one of the top teams in the country, falling in all three doubles matches and the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions. Taylor's No. 3 doubles tandem of Julianna Hotmire and Lydia Browning put together the closest match of the day, falling 8-3.
"It's always a tough match against IWU who is well-coached and a nationally-ranked team," noted Coach Jon Wegener. "We are looking forward to another good match tomorrow against Aquinas."
