Foresters Down TU in League Quarterfinals
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Taylor women's tennis fall season came to an end on Tuesday with a loss to Huntington University in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Crossroads League Postseason Tournament. Taylor (7-7, 5-4) will break from competition and return to the courts in the spring of 2020.
TU was able to pick up a win in No. 3 doubles with Molly Pile and Lydia Browning earning a 6-4 victory. However, the Trojans fell in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, giving the team point to HU.
In singles, Pile continued her winning ways, landing the only win of the night over Lisa Collings from HU 6-4, 6-4.
"We got off to a better start in doubles today," commented Coach Jon Wegener. "Singles, however, had a much slower start for us than last week. Credit goes to Huntington who came with the focus and energy they needed to get the win. I'm proud of these ladies and all they represent. They did an excellent job representing Taylor on and off the court."
