
TU Women’s Track Jumps to No. 13 in USTFCCCA Ratings
NEW ORLEANS – Following a strong showing at the Midwest Classic on February 3, the Taylor women's track and field team soared up from No. 22 to No. 13 in the latest USTFCCCA NAIA Women's Track and Field ratings index.
The Trojans hauled in five individual wins and hit seven NAIA National qualifying marks at their latest meet, and now boast 14 qualifying marks for the indoor season spread over nine events.
TU's automatic qualifiers consist of Abby Mays, Noel VanderWall, Audrey Brinkruff, Mollie Gamble and Ahna Neideck in individual events, while the team has also hit NAIA-A standards in the 4x800-meter relay and distance-medley relay.
The Trojans also boast a top-10 NAIA ranking in five events, with VanderWall ranking fourth in the mile and sixth in the 3,000 and Mays sitting fifth in the 1,000. The distance-medley relay also ranks third and the 4x800-relay is seventh.
Taylor will continue its indoor season on February 16 and 17 at the Crossroads League Championships, with the Trojans in search of their third indoor league crown in the past seven seasons.
