UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor women's track and field program continued its outdoor season, hosting the George Glass Invitational and receiving 14 top-three finishes on Saturday.
The 4x100-meter relay team not only took first place but hit the NAIA B Standard with a time of 47.60. The quartet of D'Arjha Davis, Ashley Hall, Kiana Siefert, and Nicole Braz Domene provided one of two wins for Taylor on the day.
The Trojans secured their other victory in the 400-meters as Hall won with a career-best time of 57.32, which was less than a tenth of a second away from setting a new program record and hitting the NAIA B Standard.
The 1,500-meters had a plethora of Taylor athletes, with Noel VanderWall topping the TU group with a second-place finish at 4:36.6, good enough to hit the NAIA B Standard in the event. Ahna Neideck and Audrey Brinkruff finished right behind VanderWall, giving TU three of the top four finishers.
The 200-meters saw Hall and Davis finish second and third, while Davis added a second-place finish in the 100-meters with a time of 12.62 seconds.
Patience Sakeuh and Siefert placed second and third in the long jump recording distances of 5.55 meters and 5.42 meters, respectively. Siefert added a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, running a time of 15.32 seconds.
Two freshmen, Sam Patterson and Claire Bailey, stood out with third-place finishes in the 5,000-meters and 400-meter hurdles, respectively.
The Trojans compete next at the two-day We Fly Track and Field Challenge at Ball State, beginning on Friday, April 12.
