
Gamble and Siefert Headline First Day of Crossroads League Championships

MARION, Ind. – The Taylor women's track and field program began competition in the Crossroads League Championships, taking home two titles while earning 34.5 points to sit in fourth place after Thursday's action.
Kiana Siefert won the Long Jump to claim her first Crossroads League Championship. The sensational sophomore recorded a distance of 5.75 meters, which hit the NAIA B Standard. Seifert also ran in the preliminaries for the 100-meter hurdles and qualified for the finals with the second fastest time at 14.74.
Mollie Gamble captured the Trojan's second Crossroads League Championship in the 10,000-meters. The senior clocked a time of 37:53.89 to top the field and earn 10 points for the Trojans.
The 4x800-meter relay team hit the NAIA A-Standard with a time of 9:06.58. The quartet of Noel VanderWall, Emily Johnson, Olivia Jeanette, and Abby Mays finished in third to secure six points for Taylor.
The final Trojan to score on Thursday was Janna Teusch in the pole vault. The freshman finished seventh by clearing a height of 3.25 meters, her second-best mark of the outdoor season.
The trio of D'Arjha Davis, Ashley Hall, and Nicole Domene qualified for the finals in the 100-meters, with time of 12.12, 12.13, and 12.48 respectively.
Taylor finished the day in fourth and continues competition on Friday, May 3, with events beginning at 9:00 am.
