
Siefert Shines as Trojans Conclude CL Championships

MARION, Ind. – The Taylor women's track and field program concluded the Crossroads League Championships with 125.5 points to finish fourth, as Kiana Siefert was dominant, as she was named Women's Most Valuable Athlete for Field Events as well as Female Athlete of the Meet for scoring 36 points for the Trojans.
The sensational sophomore won the lone field event of the day for the Trojans in the triple jump, with a distance of 11.25 meters. Siefert continued her strong showing with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 14.57, which was good enough to hit the NAIA B Standard.
The two-sport standout stayed busy, combining with D'Arjha Davis, Nicole Domene, and Jessie Beaumont in the 4x100-meter relay and collecting a second-place finish. The quartet of Trojans combined for a time of 48.18.
Ahna Neideck began the day for TU in the steeplechase, taking home the title with a time of 10:56.36. Audrey Brinkruff was the next competitor to cross the finish line, giving Taylor the top two athletes in the event. Brinkruff notched a time of 11:12.56.
Noel VanderWall hit the NAIA A Standard in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:33.42, which placed her as the runner-up in the event. Kaitlin Burden also scored a fifth-place finish in the event, clocking a time of 4:46.07.
Davis notched a runner-up finish in the 100 meters with a time of 12.32. Domene grabbed a couple of points for the Trojans in the event with a seventh-place finish with a time of 12.67.
Abby Mays reached the podium in the 800-meters with a third-place finish and a time of 2:14.84, which hit the NAIA B Standard. Emily Johnson ran a time of 2:17.96 to grab a point for an eighth-place finish.
Claire Bailey notched a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, which Siefert also ran and finished seventh. Finishing out the scoring on the day for the Trojans was Sam Patterson in the 5,000-meters with a fifth-place finish, and Nadia Rhoades collecting seventh in the high jump.
The women's track team will now prepare for the NAIA National Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan beginning Wednesday, May 22.
